Words that shape, Words that change Our lives.

Words. Simple and inexplicable things. Powerful, powerful things. Spoken, written, however formed they carry power within them and within how they are used. Single words, simple phrases tell stories, draw pictures, explain events, confuse and clarify.

Words shape our lives.  Words change our lives.

  • “I take thee…”
  • “I do…”
  • “For better, for  worse”
  • Husband
  • Lymphoma
  • Stage Four
  • Chemotherapy

These few words. They tell our story of this moment. When our lives are changed forever. Simple words with powerful meanings painting the incredibly complex reality that is now.

Words.  Some words we choose, some come to us.  The ones we choose shape our lives and frequently the ones that come to us change our lives.

  • “In sickness, in health”
  • My choice.
  • Your choice.
  • Our choice.

What comes to one of us comes to both us.

What changes you, changes me.

I am here. For you.

I need you here. For me.

Chosen words of others offered freely with love, with compassion, with empathy.

As much as all of these words say, they are not complete.

They sketch the outline and we must yet find the colors that fill in the rest of the story.

In Jesus’ name

1In the beginning the Word already existed.

   The Word was with God,

   and the Word was God.

2 He existed in the beginning with God.

3 God created everything through him,

and nothing was created except through him.

4 The Word gave life to everything that was created,

and his life brought light to everyone.

5 The light shines in the darkness,

and the darkness can never extinguish it.

John 1:1-5 New Living Translation
